- HISTORY:
Immerged as a settlement on the intersection of BR 29 (Presently BR 364) with the Candeias River. It was know as the Candeias Villa in honor of the Candeias River, tributary of the Jamari River that bathes the city.
By orientation of the Census of Rondônia an emancipation project went through the Legislative Assembly with the name Candeias do Jamari, since there was already another municipality called Candeias.
The Municipality was established as Candeias do Jamari by the law # 363, de 13.02.92.
